Who does the work of the Foundation?CorporatorsAny resident of Boylston over age 18 may be elected as a Corporator of the Foundation. Candidates for Corporator can be voted in at any regular meeting and the term is for 5 years. It is hoped that a corporator would: · Develop knowledge of and contribute to the goals of the library. · Advocate for the institution. · Give time, expertise and support. · Serve on committees. · Attend Annual Meeting and other Board meetings. Board of DirectorsThe Board of Directors, consisting of up to 20 Corporators, meets on the third Tuesday of the month at the library. They manage the affairs of the Foundation and are elected at the Annual Meeting to serve for two years. CommitteesDevelopment CommitteeThis Committee reviews and establishes long and short-term goals for fund raising that enables the Foundation to meet its overall objectives. Its recommendations are brought before the Board for consideration. The Finance and Investment Advisory CommitteeThis Committee recommends to the Board a yearly budget and any changes in financial policy. It advises the board and reports regularly regarding the investment of the Foundation's funds. The Audit CommitteeThis Committee consists of at least three Board members or Corporators. It determines the scope of the audit, reviews the year-end audit and makes recommendations to the Board concerning an audit for the next year. The Nominating CommitteeThis Committee presents a slate of nominations for Corporators and Board members of the Foundation. Special CommitteesThe Board or President may establish special committees as needed. Special committees shall serve until they complete the project for which they are appointed and shall give status reports as requested. |

The Boylston Public Library Foundation, Inc. was incorporated in March 1983 with a mission to promote the acquiring and maintaining of a current comprehensive collection; to provide programs and services for educational, recreational, survival and enrichment purposes for people of all ages, and to ensure adequate facilities and staff to satisfy the needs and interest of the citizens of Boylston.
